SecuGen Corporation USA has decided to phase out Hamster Pro20 with immediate effect to make way for the new innovative product Hamster Pro20 AP. This will be more cost-effective and tailored to the most recent biometric needs.

In terms of fingerprint image quality (both are FBI. IP and STQC approved for image quality) and template extraction method (MINEX III certified), there is no difference between Hamster Pro20 (HU20) and Hamster Pro20 AP (HU20-AP). End-users will notice no difference in operation, performance, or design when the HU20 is replaced with the HU20-AP.

The API for both sensors is the same for application developers; the only difference is the model number provided by the API call.

According to the company, all formalities relating to SecuGen Hamster Pro20 AP (HU20-AP) certification and RD service have been successfully completed with UIDAI and STQC, and the RD service for the HU20 –AP on Production has been issued, with the new RD service being common to both models.
